How to mark an employee as a leaver on the SIF file

Employees either leaving the company or leaving the Plan

Updating the SIF for employees leaving my company

You will need to complete the SIF for the relevant employee leaving by filling in the fields ExitDate and ExitReasonCode. The two option codes that you can use for ExitReasonCode are ‘Leaver’ or ‘Death’. This can be used to let us know of employees that have left service or have passed away. Please make sure all contributions are fully paid up before marking someone as a leaver.

Once contributions have been paid Columns Y-AG can be left blank and the Exit date and Exit reason can be populated and the SIF should be uploaded.

Please make sure to mark someone as a leaver on/after the Exit date to ensure the employee receives their leaving service options

**If a member has retired please notify your advisor on the pension plan.

Important: if you submit an employee as a leaver in error, please email [email protected]

For further information in relation to the SIF, please see the SIF Guide.
